Current Role: Web Developer @ Future Publishing Ltd. / October 2007 – Present

I better mention this now, my employer(s) do not endorse any views, opinions or crazy logic posted on this blog.

My interest in web development first started when I was 13 years old, creating my own personal site and running a gaming clan website for 4 glorious years.

In the past I have worked on various personal projects, many that are still running today.

  • MapleTip was one of my bigger successes, reaching the top 10,000 in Alexa and receiving around 500,000 page views a month.
  • My current project Manga Masters is an art based community. Running since 2005, it’s grown to have a loyal fan base who share an interest in Japanese animation. Sharing with like minded people, it encourages members to improve their drawing skills and to help others.

My blog is about me and my work. Passionate about the web, I want to share my knowledge and experience with everyone. The transition from hobby to a successful career wasn’t an easy one, but I think it is something everyone should have the chance to strive for if they really want to.

Creating communities and connecting people is my passion, the internet was built to make information easily and widely available to everyone; and I wish to continue that goal.

WordPress and Zend Framework are currently part of my arsenal. Creating success stories like SFX and PC Gamer who have enjoyed major success with this combination.

In the past I have worked with various PHP projects, implementing them into my work, such as phpBB, vBulletin, IPBoard, Smarty.

Full range of skills include:
Unix, Subversion, PHP 4/5, MySQL, OOP, JavaScript, XHMTL, HTML5, CSS, XML, Flash.

My hobbies are Guitar, Snowboarding, Anime/Manga, Drawing, Japanese Language, Rock & Metal music, Photography, Games, Gym and Computers.
Never afraid to try new things and often revel a good challenge.
